We wanted to buy more sun lotion - in the hotel shop 200ml 28 EUR - in the next town then 125ml for 10 EUR. So it's better if you bring everything with you! It is also better to pay in US Dollars, even after arriving at the airport. So bring enough with you!
Then of course the regular battles over the beach beds, you had to get up at 7 in the morning to get one, but Italy is also the world champion when it comes to beach bed battles ...)
Service
5.0Great
Gastronomy
4.5
The drinks, in particular the fresh juices (i.e. non-alcoholic), could have been better. We always quickly boiled our own tea at the bars and then turned it into great iced tea with sugar, lime and ice. But fresh juices would have been nice.
Except for the stressful standing in line for specialties like fresh prawns (they are plenty left even a half-hour after the peak times), great selection and relaxed atmosphere.
Sport & Entertainment
5.5
25% Italians, and then 20% French, Russians, and North Americans in the hotel - as a German family you can't expect all that much German-language service. And there was no longer a German entertainment crew anymore either. However, the Blu Clubs from Italy with around 15 entertainers really got things in swing and their program was really worth seeing! What fun and supervision from young to old (they even eat together at the table with the guests if they wish). Very positive. The Russian guests were also agreeable.
The complex is in top condition, in particular the plants, pools, gardens and sport facilities are outstanding! We went catamaran sailing, Kayak riding, played tennis and table tennis a lot. You could partake in these sports anytime.
Room
3.5
We switched off the air conditioning, it was not needed at all. Unfortunately we would only open the windows in the morning because of the mosquitos (unfortunately we had to chase them away in the evening, but there weren't that many and the bites were not that bad). However, this made it more difficult for us to get rid of the continual stagnant moisture in the rooms.
The balcony and window doors cannot be locked, but we still did not have a safe in the room (25 US Dollars a week) - We always felt safe and nothing went lost either.
The cleaning lady was excellent, everything was as clean as could be!
But then the beds - we are a bit sensitive in this regard, but the description "firm hammock" definitely comes closest - that means that they felt as if may people had already laid in them, but they were still tight. Not exactly relaxing for the back.
Tips and recommendations
One more thing - my wife strained her thigh playing volleyball. There was a good Medical Center in the resort, which then transferred us to the private hospital. He wanted 90 US Dollars for this which we successfully refused to pay (he didn't even do a thorough examination), but in the hospital we owed them EUR 300. Our insurance company will be delignted.
Nevertheless, the medical care was great and that is definitely good to know.
