Dream holiday, well...
Hotel
3.0The complex actually lies set in tropical vegetation. The bungalows are very spacious, although already somewhat worn. Be careful when choosing your room: guests, who booked garden rooms, could only sleep with ear-plugs in because they had the feeling that there was traffic in the bungalows themselves. Furthermore some of these rooms had "no" windows- only shutters with blind slats, through which you could naturally hear the noise from the street very clearly. Guests were predominantly American, very loud and some were drunk from morning until night.
Location
3.0We only stayed in the hotel because we were on an Aida cruise the week before and had therefore seen and done a lot.
Service
3.0Competence: 1/6, we arrive at the hotel after a twelve hour flight, wait for three hours before we can check-in, then we want to take our suitcases to our rooms ourselves- but no, that's the porter's job, we should go on ahead. After an hour the luggage still hasn't arrived, and we're stuck in our room in our winter clothes asking after it. The luggage was on its way, they said. Still no luggage after two hours, now they can't tell us anything more. I go to look for it, search the whole complex (it's not particularly small) and find our luggage after about half an hour (probably there for three hours already) outside the wrong room. The porter was seemingly unable to read the four digit number correctly, instead of 3335 he had read 3353. Otherwise everything very slow and not really very well organized.
Gastronomy
3.0
The food was, in terms of its quality, not too bad at all, satisfactory selection.
Atmosphere: what should I say here: we had brought our good clothes with us, because we thought we might have to be appropriately dressed for dinner. Not enough space, you should just take any old rags with you, I guarantee you'll fit in perfectly then. The dress code which the management allows here is- to be frank- a disgrace. Guests arrive for dinner in flip-flops and shorts or even in their bikini top and pareo and the waiters serve them as though they were in the Ritz- just a joke.
The dining room is extremely dark, you can really hardly see. In the evening the tables are laid and this almost creates a nice atmosphere. At breakfast and lunch it looks pretty bad though. The waiters wipe the uncovered tables with a wet cloth and then set the cutlery straightway without putting down a table-cloth- enjoy your meal... I made a table napkin for myself because it really wasn't hygienic.
Sport & Entertainment
5.0To be fair, the sports facilities were fantastic. Water and quality of beach first rate, you could walk for hours on the snowy-white beach, enough sun-loungers, although there were almost no umbrellas on the beach- but what with the palms trees there is enough natural shade.
Room
3.0See description above, rooms very spacious but careful when it comes to choosing!!!!
Hotel review marks: 6 suns = very good … 1 sun = unsatisfactory
