Country and People
History
Albufeira's story begins with its occupation by the Romans and was then known as Baltum. It transformed to a busy agricultural and commercial area. At that time, the aqueducts, roads and bridges were built whose remains can still be seen.
It was also occupied by the Arabs (called Al-Buhera) and became a city of great commercial importance. The Arabs built the great defensive infrastructure. The Arabic influence contributed a lot to the city.
Alfonso III conquered the city in the thirteenth century and, as a result, Albufeira was annexed to the Kingdom of Portugal.

We had 25°C but still not with upholstery armchairs and couches adjusted. In the area of the rooftop bar (closed) we finally found upholstery and the outdoor furniture placed independently. The cushions and the f... Read more

beautiful hotel, great location, with small downsides

Hotel Sheraton Algarve & Pine Cliffs Resort in Albufeira, Algarve
the hotel itself is not huge, the complex or the whole resort is huge. Everything is extremely well maintained and clean but you can tell the complex in some places it's age. The paths through the garden area are pitfalls and contrary to the rest of the complex very tasteless. The guest structure was mixed, German, Netherlands, English, Swiss, Austrians, a colorful mixed clientele, the average age I would on about 50 grade, whereby also some few families with small children were there.
