BEST WESTERN AHORN Hotel Stephanshöhe in Altenberg, Saxony
The best Western hotel is located in Altenberg in the district of schellerhau at the end of the town. It is very many rooms, but it 'lost' -you will not many guests and not the feeling the mass processing. The hotel was in the 80's a fdgb hotel-this charm it still has not lost-we found it but not bad.
the rooms are with modern furniture and flat screen equipped-there was no closet, just a dresser and a open main criteria in the entrance area-it was more than enough but, all have things under.... Read more

The hotel, despite that it is a former FDG -home is, not at all the impression shabby to be. The rooms seemed very small but practical. We missed solely a closet. We found in our room solely a sideboard with slides before.
Both the rooms, but also the rest of the hotel seemed at any time very clean and tidy.
we had our 3-day weekend inclusive half board booked.
Early and evenings it was a very rich and tasty buffet. Next to a buffet for the children, there was a salad corner and even a corne... Read more

Fdgb/home of the eighties: tiny rooms, massive dining rooms, lack of comfort and service, mass processing with large kitchen for high level prices.
refurbished and clean, staff hard-working and friendly, but the dining area blocked/overburdened.
Relatively large hotel's own swimming pool with saunaArea, for guests inclusive.
Wet cell 1.5 M-toilet and a half times, washbasin, shower, newly remodeled, clean but decided too small! In the shower stuck on the shower curtain on the backside or wet ... Read more

the hotel is a former fdgb/convalescent home, in the past few years renovated was. The rooms maintain small and noisy; but clean and tidy. Despite outside temperature of minus 20 degrees are almost the rooms warm. The restaurant is-like old times-a large waiting room.
small but OK. The rooms are very noisy. The lack of a closet mind definitely not.
the staff are very friendly. The rooms are well cleaned. Questions, as well as a kettle in the room, will be dealt with immediately.
We can not re... Read more

I have never experienced something like that. A hotel with two buildings without front desk.
this was in the restaurant. We got a double room in the attic in the house second, the hotel door had generally the guest have to be digested as at the front desk never one sat. For breakfast it did in the first house on the right-hand side. That is you not at all. The rooms are very small but sufficient for the stay. To cleanliness with 3 stars I understand something else. In the entrance area in the... Read more
