History
In the early 50's Benidorm was mainly populated by people living from fishing and agriculture. From the 50's the mayor Pedro Zaragoza decided to build roads, water supplies and started a plan for development. In 1967 buildings were built on several floors and hotels were created for mass tourism. Today, the city of Benidorm is a popular tourist destination in Spain.

Airport
The nearest airport to Benidorm is Alicante Airport. From the airport shuttle services (bus, taxi) are available to the city of Benidorm. A taxi from the airport to the city takes about 45 minutes.
Public Transport / Infrastructure
Fast trains (TRAM Metropolitano de Alicante) from Alicante to Benidorm. From the big cities of Spain such as Alicante, Madrid and Valencia you can also use the inter-city bus to travel to Benidorm. In the city you can travel either by taxi or bus. The bus service connects the towns of Benidorm and the surrounding city.

EventsBenidorm is a tourist destination not only for its beaches but also for its parties.
The second Sunday in November celebrations are held in honor of the Virgen del Suffrage and St. James the Apostle.
The 15th to the 19th of March celebrations are held in honor of patron saint of carpenters San Jose.
In June, the Bonfires of San Juan, a festival dedicated to the arrival of the summer solstice.
The Moors and Christians fiesta is in honor of coexistence between cultures and takes place in October.
Worth seeing
Terra Mitica theme park, water park and the park Aqualandia are some of the biggest tourist attraction points.
The beaches of Benidorm are the Playa de Poniente Playa de Levante, Playa del Mal Pas beach Cala Tio Ximo.
Other attractions are:
La Torre Punta del Cavallo, a former defensive tower.

pool was cold but lovely to jump into if u get too hot, doesn't have a shallow end its fairly deep from end to end but they do have a paddling pool for toddlers. food could have been better, not that much of a choice and repetitive, also they would re-use food for instance if they served peas for lunch and had them left over they would mix then in with carrots for dinner. shops were just down the road including a supermarket. entertainment was not very good the singers they have on EVERY NIGH... Good hotel with beautiful view. Lot of people from all Spain and Great Britain - big noise within breakfest, dinner and supper. But it's only minus. Except it - everything was good. Wonderful lifts - you can see all city Benidorm from 43 floor!!! Read more

The hotel was of good size with roughly 700-900 rooms. The location was good and the condition of the hotel was brilliant.
From the outside the hotel does look a little run down but inside its lovely very fresh and clean.
My party and I went all inclusive we had unlimited soft drinks and alcohol all day, snacks between breakfast and lunch and dinner and and breakfast. All had a good variety to choose from and all hot and very tastefull.
Rooms were of a very good size.
