Chamonix is situated in the Rhone-Alps region in France and is an extremely popular winter ski destination. The cultural famous mountain “Mont-Blanc” is situated in this area which has become a traditional place to visit. It is custom for people and even tradition for some to go into the well-known chalets and have a cheese fondue after a day of skiing which is a local specialty.

Religion
Most people in the area are Christians however there are also people of all religions.


Getting Around

Airports / Car rental
When travelling to Chamonix the closest airport is Geneva airport in Switzerland which is located about 80 km away from the area. This airport receives a large amount of international flights on a daily basis. From the airport there is a train station which is extremely convenient and which can bring you to Chamonix. It is also possible to rent a car at the airport, which should however be ordered in advance.

Public transport
In Chamonix everything within the area is accessible by walking, however there are local buses which rotate within the area.

Taxis / Infrastructure
Taxis can be found at taxi stand or can simply be ordered by the hotel itself.
