The performing arts play a major role in city life although sport such as basketball, which is played by the Chicago Bulls, and baseball which is played by the Chicago Cubs in Wrigley Field, help to bring Chicago’s disparate groups together.

There is a massive acreage of green space provided by Chicago's parks, complemented by Cook County Forest Preserves, the Chicago Botanic Garden, and Brookfield Zoo. In the centre of town, the Magnificent Mile is home to many upscale stores and to famous landmarks such as the Chicago Water Tower.
Chicago is home to many great institutes and seats of learning and hosts numerous cultural events. Probably Chicago’s most famous resident is Oprah Winfrey whose talk show is broadcast from Harpo Studios. Filming for movies and TV shows often takes place in the streets and is always a popular sight.

The hotel is one of the largest in the city, so there is a lot going on in the hotel. The public is very international, many business or but also many tourists as we everywhere. Very impressive the Deckenmalerin in the lobby. Even if you are not in the hotel hosts, this is definitely worth a look.

The Sheraton hotel and Tower was relatively central location in Chicago and is a very large hotel with more than 20 floors. The hotel offers full service and leaves abereits at first glance a clean and neat impression. The hotel has about 300 rooms and is in an older building. The facade reflects but not the inside of the hotel. Everything very stylish / modern and well maintained. We had booked a normal double room, as this wasnt ready, they gave us a free upgrade to a studio ..... Wonderful. Food not booked, which due to numerous restaurants nearby was also right. The guests were nicely mixed ... tourists, business people ... etc. Everything was available.

We spent a week at this hotel, 24th floor, with lake view. Room was great, as usual Doubletree, welcome with warm cookie,; -), the bathroom clean and large. We only had a problem with the humidity after showering, tried them all, but not be deducted? The view from the window was gigantic and difficult to tear ourselves away to explore could. the hotel is wonderful location directly at the Michigan avenue in downtown Chicago.
from here, it is easy to do business in the Loop or shop.
everything was very edl and classic furnished. A eye catcher is the old swimming pool.
highly recommended though not so cheap.
If you typical classic american hotel room is the place to be.
Room service took a very long time.
