AirportsConstance has a small private airport which is not in service for any airlines.
Car rental
Constance has several car rental stations (from Sixt, Europcar, Avis, Hertz and smaller private rental services). Most of them are located in the industrial area. That area is about 4 km (2.5 miles) away from the train station.
Public transport
Constance has a train station from which local and regional trains go into Germany and Switzerland. Connection to Swiss cities is better than to German cities (e.g. there is a direct connection to Zurich (incl. Zurich Airport) but there is no direct connection to Stuttgart or Munich or Frankfurt.Constance itself has a wide public transportation network via busses. That is operated by Stadtwerke Konstanz. My stay at the Hirschen Hotel was an excellent experience. The rooms are clean and pleasant. The location is perfect being a short walk to the train station, shopping, the lake and the old city. The breakfast is always fresh and has a wide variety of choices having something for everyone’s palate. The hotel was simple but clean. I stayed in a large studio with a little kitchenette (2 burners) and was able to cook a simple breakfast and make tea. The staff was very freindly. Upon check-in they said that if I needed anything (for ex extra cooking utensil) all I had to do was ask.
Simple and clean, with a fridge, cooker/burner and kettle. It was a large studio with bathroom (shower), circa 20square metres.

We loved this hotel. The staff was helpful and always in a good mood, always ready to help! The rooms are more than spacious with wooden floors and very very quiet. Nobody disturbed us at night! We will for sure come again! Many thanks to the owner for your extra help that was really needed (baby car seat;o))
Basic but very clean, extremely quite and hugeeeeeeee!
Also the wooden floors are a plus especially when travelling with a baby!
