Denver city was admitted to the Colorado Union on 1st August 1876. Denver had a hard history in which it suffered a depression in 1893, however it developed and grew positively during the 20th century and is nowadays one of the main tourist destinations. Denver was known historically as the “Queen city of the Plains” due to its great agricultural history.

Events / LifestyleDenver is the major cultural center in Colorado therefore there are a lot of different events and festivals occurring throughout the year. Denver is known for its Performing Arts scene therefore major events include regular theatre, dance, opera and ballet performances. The “Red Rocks Amphitheatre” is also worth a visit even without watching a performance. Other events and festivals include:

A very nice, almost luxurious, very clean and quiet. An expanded Continental breakfast is included and served in breakfast room offers large enough. The hotel liked it so much that I was at the night before a flight home. The house is a non-smoking-hotel.
Large room, nicely furnished with desk, designer desk chair, bathroom, air-conditioning, TV, coffee. The furnishings looked new and everything was clean.

The hotel was formerly the Holiday Inn downtown. A hotel in a typical urban block. The front is almost the entire block. Behind the hotel directly was a parking garage, which, inter alia through the "priority" to the lobby distance, and direct access (via elevator) to the hotel. Parking was $12 per day. The hotel in general is recommendable. It is very clean, the staff friendly, with free shuttle to the airport.
I had a free upgrade, as my original room was left unmade. I had the opportunity to stay in a king suite. Very spacious room with king size bed, sitting area/living room, small kitchenette and bathroom. The room was extremely clean.
