Denver is very rich in history and culture which can be seen in the style of the city. The landscape itself is also extremely unique and contributes to the cultural establishment. Denver city was admitted to the Colorado Union on 1st August 1876. Denver had a hard history in which it suffered a depression in 1893, however it developed and grew positively during the 20th century and is nowadays one of the main tourist destinations. Denver was known historically as the “Queen city of the Plains” due to its great agricultural history.

Religion
The majority of the inhabitants in Denver are Catholic.


Getting Around

Airports / Car rental
Denver has its own airport “Denver International Airport” which receives international and domestic flights flying in and out on a daily basis. It is possible to rent a car with a choice of different car companies however this should be reserved prior to your arrival.

Public transport
There a different types of public transportation services available. The train enables one to travel long distances and the bus is more convenient for traveling within the city. The RTD is the public transportation services and operates buses and light rail within the city. Another possibility is to travel via free shuttle which rotates to major places downtown.
