Culinary DelightsA typical culinary specialty in Düsseldorf is the Düsseldorfer Senfrostbraten, a grilled steak with mustard. The Rheinische Sauerbraten or the Rhine mussels are other classic dishes. The Sauerbraten is a roast and is put in a marinade of vinegar, wine and vegetable stock several days before grilling. Another dish is Halver Hahn, a bun made of rye flour and served with cheese. Along the Bolkarstraße there are several bars and restaurants. On this street is also the birthplace of Heinrich Heine, poet, a very important
writer and journalist in Germany.

Holiday Inn Express Düsseldorf - City Nord in Dusseldorf, North Rhine-Westphalia
We have chosen this hotel due to its proximity to Dusseldorf airport because we needed only to spent a night between flights. It `s really convenient to get from the airport by S-bahn to Derendorf station and then walk 5-10 minutes to the Hotel. Hotel is rather far from the center and main city sights, but trains and trams allows to be in the city in short time. Delicious breakfast was included in room rate. I spent the night in hotel quite comfortably. What I didn`t like was the fact that ... Read more

We arrived on 31 December at. The wellness area was already closed from 16:00. If we had known, we would have arrived much later. On the hotel web site on the Internet nothing noted. On demand we got bathrobes and slippers in the room, should actually be mandatory. The hall of mirrors, where breakfast is served, is not pleasant, and certainly not the layout of the buffets. Despite the surrounding streets and it was surprisingly quiet three groups in the hotel. Conclusion-older hotel, 80's cha... Read more

A strong praise the breakfast buffet, which really nothing lacking and everything of best quality was! The park in front of the hotel is disastrous, through a huge building site right in front of the hotel (and in the half city center) is also the difficult. On the construction can nothing reports, since we were there that weekend. The location of the hotel is very good, right in f... Read more
