Estes Park is well known for being located at the Rocky Mountain National Park and also lies along the “Big Thompson River”. Joel Estes founded Estes Park in 1859, therefore the town was named after him. Near this town there is the famous “Stanley Hotel” which has become a Colorado tradition since 1909, at which Stephen King wrote “the shining” from which there is a lovely view onto the Rocky Mountains. In 1982 the “Lawn Lake Dam” failed and cause mass floods in the town, however today the town has recovered and it is a beautiful location to see a lot of history.

Religion
The majority of the inhabitants in Estes State are Catholic.

Travelling into Estes Park the main airport serving this city is “Denver International Airport” which receives daily international and domestic flights. It is possible to rent a car at the airport, which should be ordered in advance.

The Public transportation service in Estes Park offers shuttle services which rotate up to the Rocky Mountains daily. Local buses and trains are around the city as well for touring around within the city.
