Fethiye

Entry/Visa
When travelling to Fethiye you can fly to Dalaman airport in the town which is located 54 km from Fethiye. Once visitors have bought the obligatory tourist visa which costs 15 € which you can buy at the airport on arrival you can travel to Fethiye via shuttle bus. The visa is valid 30 days and then is disposable. When taking a trip to Fethiye visitors must have passports valid still for at least 6 months.

Culinary Specialities
The Turkish cuisine offers a variety of delicious foods. It is hard to even know what to start with. Turkish cuisine combines the flavors of cuisine: Greek, Bulgarian and Turkish. The most known specialty is the kebab which includes sliced ​​meat on bread with tomato sauce and vegetables. If you prefer to eat a Kebab on a plate you can choose to switch the bread for rice or French fries. For the kebabs on plates you can order a meze, or a cold starters such as cream cheese, slices of melon, pepper, eggplant salad, calamari, yogurt with cucumber and garlic, kofte (grilled minced meatballs), and fish. Another very popular dish is gozleme which are cakes with minced meat and spices. If you prefer a lighter soup dish you can try a Corba. It is very satisfying as it is always served with plenty of bread. You can also order a tomato soup with beans and onion. Along to the food the most common drink to be order is Ayran, a Turkish beverage consisting of yoghurt and water. After eating the main meals, it is common to order a desert. The most popular desert is the baklava (layers of pastry layered with honey, almonds, walnuts, pistachios, soaked with icing). It is very sweet and something to be enjoyed slowly.

Lifestyle / Sights
In the center of the town is a port where you can take cruise ships. Fethiye is a city full of interesting sights, such as rock tombs, castles and an amphitheater. The Museum of Fethiye is definitely worth visiting whilst exploring the city. It contains exhibits from prehistoric times and Byzantine archaeological sites found in the nearby town. Tombs can be visited near the Town Hall (Hukumet Konai). The most interesting one is the tomb of Amyntas lying there since the fifth century BC. The tomb from the outside resembles the Ionic temple and to the west of the tomb stands the Hospitaller fortress. From its walls you can admire the beautiful view of the entire town of Fethiye which lies in Lycia. Not far from Fethiye you can take a unique tour which is a marked mountain trail leading through the ancient cities. In Fethiye, you can also enjoy the picturesque Bay of Oludeniz and visit the ghost town, village Kayakoy.
