Events / LifestyleDue to its great history many events have built up over the years which also give an insight to the lifestyle lead by the locals. Amongst these some include the Christmas market (December), the hahnenkamm races (January), the interwetten Austrian Open (July).
Culinary Specialities
Kitzbühel culinary still has its flair from the medieval times making the food extremely unique. Some local specialties include “wiener” and “schweinschnitzel” (local sausages and meat) mixed with vegetables and the famous “Apfelstrudel” with vanilla sauce.
Sights
The main sight worth seeing in Kitzbühel is the spectacular view from the peak of the mountains, therefore it is recommended to go to the top of the “Panorama Alm”. The town itself is a medieval town with a great history which can be explored all over the town and its architecture. Some other sights worth seeing include the old historic town, the medieval houses, old churches, the cable car museum, the farmhouse museum, the mining museum and the ski museum.

We had the best skiing holiday - this really is a ski in ski out hotel.We skiied to the entrance of the boot room. Hotel staff were extremely friendly and efficient. The position of the hotel ensures a quiet nights sleep, however apres ski and night life is just a short well lit safe walk from the hotel. Astoria is very nice, charming hotel located on the suburb of Kitzbühel, very close to railway station. To get to the city centre it takes only 10 minutes relax walking. Ski bus stand is directly in front of hotel and within 10 minutes you are on the Hannenkam Bahn

Landhotel Vordergrub, is an excellent hotel in Kitzbühel. I have been staying there with my family for the past 3 years and cant fault it in anyway.
All the staff are very friendly and professional and the hotel restaurant food is fantastic and i would recommend this hotel wholeheartedly to anyone wishing to ski or holiday in the area.
