Lagos, or Lacóbriga, was founded about 2000 BC by Coni. After it was conquered by the Carthaginians, Romans, various barbarian groups and Muslims, it was finally reconquered by the Christians. From Lagos, many Portuguese vessels left to various parts of the world in the XV and XVI century. In fact, many of the sailors were famous in the history of Lagos (the most famous one was Gil Eanes). Because of this, Lagos has been given the name "City of Discovery. "

Worth seeingBesides the beautiful beaches (such as Crescent Beach Beach, the beach of the Potato, the Estudandes Beach, Pinhão Beach, the beach Owner Ana, Camilo Beach, the beach of the firs, the Playa Grande, the beach at Punta de la Piedad, Martinho Beach Barranco, Canavial Beach, the beach of Porto de Mos Beach and Light), you can find other monuments n Lagos that are worth visiting:
• Lagos Castle (XIII century).
• The Church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, also known as the Church of Carmo Church of the Carmelites (XV century).
• El Fuerte de la Punta de la Bandera, also known as Fort of the flagpole, Fort of Our Lady of Penha de France, or even Fort registry. It was built in relationship with the War of Restoration, between 1679 and 1690.
• The Church of Santo António, a baroque church built under the reign of D. João V.
• The Church of the Light of Lagos. The body of the church was constructed in 1874.
Also worth a visit to one of the colorful markets that take place the first Saturday of the month.

The hotel has a pleasant size with about 70 apartments/ studios.
The cleanliness the complex was excellent. Outside range and pool were cleaned daily. The rooms were three times the week cleaned. FYI it is no hotel, but an apartment hotel.
We had overnight stay with breakfast booked. Half board we would in Portugal do not book, because there is so many good restaurants to discover.
The majority of the guests spoke German and were so between 40 and 60 years old.

A very large and lovely area in different houses and various categories. Less hotel as apartment complex with an underground carpark. Super location on the marina of Lagos and in direct near train station. Only a couple of minutes to the old town on foot.

Very beautiful hotel area with large elegant and comfortable equipped apartments and beautiful balcony (many with a view of the sea), as well as very beautiful restaurant with excellent food. All apartments are very clean and well maintained. The staff are all in all really friendly and helpful. A lot of regular guests all age groups, as we each year back to in a beautiful beach and close-to-the-city atmosphere to relax.
