Hotel reviews for hotels in Las Palmas
Melia Las Palmas is no longer Melia. It has changed its name to Cristina Las Palmas. I am wondering why. Some floors have been renewed as the 8th floor where our special seaview room was. The room has a big terrace with great views over Las Canteras beach. The free internet was not working in our room. There was no wifi signal on the 8th floor. Also no signal from the ethernet plug. In the lobby the internet worked fine. The common facilities are more four star than five star. Read more

The hotel is very clean throughout and the rooms are very big for the price you are paying. The food at the buffet is good and changes on a daily basis, breakfast is excellent with a big selection of cold/hot options. The pool area is very nice and the pool itself is a big bonus to this hotel. If you are travelling with kids be mindful there is no entertainment whatsoever with the exception of table tennis and 2 pool tables. If you want to visit the island you can rent a car from the receptio... Read more

The hotel is in the middle of Las Canteras beach and old town. To both is an unpleasant 3 kms walk. Luckily taxis are inexpensive in Spain if you take short rides.
We had booked a senior suite which was not value for the high price. It was two connecting rooms with a very narrow connecting door: one junior suite and one superior room. The bedroom of the junior suite had been converted to a small living room. So we had two living rooms, two similar bathrooms and two balconies. The balconies w... Read more

Our first impression was not very good. The hotel facade was covered with a green net because of falling tiles. Also the lobby was quite modest for a four star hotel.
However our room junior suite #909 was very bright and spacious. Also it had a big roof terrace with panoramic beach views. Wifi was not free in the room. We used the free extremely slow wifi in the lobby.
The breakfast was quite good but I am not sure if it was worth the 15 euros price. Read more

The hotel is very centrally located. It is a short walk to Las Canteras beach, Santa Catalina park, El Muelle shopping center and bus station. The common areas and rooms have modern and fresh design. Our junior suite #2008 was in the 20th floor and had good views to the south. If you want to have Las Canteras views rooms number 1-2 and 12-13 have better beach views but probably only from floor 15 upwards. On the top 25th floor there is a small pool with great 360 degrees views. There is a fre... Read more
