HistoryFounded by the Romans in 79 BC, the city owes its expansion to the industrial revolution, starting in the late 18th century and its prime location next to the countryside and the port of Liverpool. Its location also made it a center for the textile industry, where the climate favored the cultivation of cotton.
Culture and Tradition
The cross over between the former industrial city and the new metropolitan city is what the foundation of the culture is built on. Its high student population modern buildings like the Lowry Centre, thriving art scene, and bars and restaurants make it one of the coolest British metropolises. For a short stay hotel in Manchester, for a visit to the old Trafford very recommendable, since about 15 minutes within walking distance. The breakfast was basic but sufficient to budget price, with a few bars and restaurants, the tram runs right across the street from the hotel in the city. Read more

We booked this hotel for a one night stay during a game of Manchester United on boxing day used. The room iBIS typical was equipped with all the (including hair dryer) equipped, the room was clean. However, there were no German TV channels. In the entrance area there is an Internet place, the free used could be, wireless in the room with ten (!) per day £ridiculously expensive. Hotel Jurys Inn Manchester in Manchester, North West England
Jurys inn is located in the heart of Manchester (it is only about a five minute walk to town hall) but in a quiet area. The rooms are if you close the windows-almost sound proof and also in the hotel itself we have never noise learn. The flat screenTv with about 50 English channels provided, unfortunately one German channels in vain, but this is certainly not a negative point.
