Osaka has a humid subtropical climate with four very different seasons. The winters are mild and the coldest month with an average of 9-10 C is January. Spring starts of mild however it gets hot and humid quickly with the most rainfall in the year. Summers especially during July and August get very hot reaching about 35 C, however at night it gets cooler to around 25 C. Autumn starts of warm however at the end it gets a lot colder.

EventsOsaka has many well-known festivals such as the following:“Tenjin Festival” is one of Japan's three major festivals, which occurs annually on July 24th and 25th, during which fireworks are held. “Yodogawa Fireworks” occur on the first Saturday in August, during which also fireworks occur and many people come wearing a kimono.
Culinary Specialities
Osaka is known for its food and it is said that “you eat till you drop in Osaka”. The local specialties include dishes such as: “Okonomiyaki” which is a pan fried batter cake, “Takoyaki” which are octopus dumplings, “Udon” which is a noodle dish, “oshizushi” which are pressed sushi, “battera” which are pressed mackerel sushi” and many other local dishes.
