Rocca Pietore is a commune in the province of Belluno surrounded almost entirely my mountain areas. It is a tourist resort located at the foot of Marmolada massif and is surrounded by very clean and greatly cared for nature. Rocca Pietore is very rich in culture and ancient traditions which have survived many years and are very apparent even still today due to the “Union di Ladins de Rocia” caring for its cultural heritage.

EventsAs Rocca Pietore takes great pride in its culture and history, they celebrate this through local events such as an event called “Agrimont” .
Culinary Specialities
The food in Rocca Pietore is part of the traditional lifestyle as it has been established over the years. This includes specialties such as polenta and rice mixed with mushrooms or seafood. Very traditional food includes rice and peas and “fegato alla Veneziana” which is liver fried with onions. Seafood is also served widely ranging from shrimps, clams, prawns to fresh fish. Eels are of great importance to the local diet and are served almost everywhere.
Sights
As the town is so rich in culture and history some sights worth seeing whilst staying for a visit include the “Saint Mary Magdalene’s Gothic Church” and “Saint Gottardo’s Church”. Other than the historical culture and beautiful views on the peaks of mountains, for those who want to go deeper into the winter sports, alongside skiing and snowboarding it is also possible to go ice climbing and cross-country skiing.
