Very welcoming hotel, shuttle service from Spiez train station, free welcome drinks in the library area, multi-lingual and friendly staff. Great place for couples, a very relaxing and well-kept wellness/pool area. 4-course evening meal to a very high culinary standard, as well as a full breakfast served to our room the following morning. This hotel is heavenly. The rooms are large and comfortable, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the food is very good. The gardens are gorgeous, and the entire property is unique and well cared for. I would stay here again (if only the exchange rate were better!) Read more

With only 33 rooms it is not a large hotel but it is extremely well managed both on the hardware side (the private hotel rooms and the meeting rooms and the eating areas) as well as the software side (the individuals who staff the front desk, the restaurant, etc.) I understand the hotel is to be closed for the next 4 months as it undergoes a top-to-bottom renovation (which I think is unnecessary since I think it is in tip-top shape as it is but perhaps for a 103 year-old hotel a complete ren...
