Hotel review for Aqua Hotel Onabrava

Hotel

Big, peaceful, and elegant. On account of the size, you never get the impression that the hotel is over-full. For this reason, you always feel very comfortable. The foyer is beautiful. It's a new hotel, nicely kept up.

Location

It's located right on the promenade. For this reason there's always something going on at night. We walked about 5 minutes to get to the beach (great sand - very fine). We were in Barcelona - I can only recommend it - went with the train (about 5euro). Takes about 5 minutes to get to the train station by foot.

Service

Very nice cleaning staff. The reception staff was ok. We had to wait until 2pm until we could check into our room. The check-out was equally long - we had to leave the room at noon and wait until 6pm for the bus.

Gastronomy

Great food - everything the heart desires - both evenings and mornings. Lots of variety, and top quality. We also never had to wait to get a table. Great selection.

Sport & Entertainment

The pool was nice, also there's a jacuzzi. The area around the pool isn't so great, since you have to lay almost right on the promenade. The pool area is more for sunbathing than swimming since it's quite small. In the evenings the pool area is nicely lit - good for making photos with the palms and the bridge. Activities took place around noon - for instance volleyball. The programme staff wasn't too pushy, which is often the case.

Room

Huge beds, nicely furnished balcony, big clean room. Very nice, new furniture - really perfect.

Tips and recommendations

In general I would say, regardless of hotel, that Santa Susanna is a vacation destination for young people, or for people who aren't concentrated only on complete quiet and peace.
All the hotels we saw are right on the promenade, where there are clubs next to clubs.
Everything is very bright and colorful . . although not in comparison with Lloret!!!!!
There aren't any drunken, pubescent youth in Santa Susanna, rather just people of all ages enjoying the summer.
