Hotel review for Gran Hotel Costa Meloneras

Hotel

A dream place. Over all very good, with 1100 rooms. Super maintained, nice rooms, awsome wellness-center. The garden facility is equipped with many pools so that the guests are divided and not all in one pool (the best pool is the main one because it is right beside the Atlantic Ocean).

Location

There are enough options around the hotel: some bars, one can go out to eat or buy food because the shopping center Varadero is right beside the hotel. The dunes are 5 minutes away walking. 'Playa del Ingles' is 10 minutes away with Taxi, it costs $5 Euro!

Service

The staff was always friendly and courteous. The rooms were properly cleaned. It is important to stress that there is only one towel provided at the arrival, and every time one wants to change it, it has some charge. It is also important mentionthat this charge is for an environmental project.

Gastronomy

We had the half a pension regarding the meals, but that was enough. Buffet is not overcrowded and we do not mean anything negative here. A small but good variety, there was something for everyone there.

Sport & Entertainment

The hotel has an outstanding wellness-centre (there is some charge). The pool area is almost unique. I did not use anything else.

Room

Rooms are tidy and always clean. The wallpaper in the washroom is peeled and after each shower one has a private pool in the shower. When possible, book the room with view of the pool or the garden. My room had view of the inside and it did not provide a very good atmosphere.

Tips and recommendations

The partner hotel , Villas del Conde is worth taking a look at: It cannot be compared because it is built in another way, it is rather a higher alternative.
