I just returned from a fantastic stay at The Hotel Alpina in Klosters Switzerland. The skiing in Klosters and Davos is fantastic and is only topped by the efficient yet very friendly staff at the hotel. I have never before experienced such a clever blend of luxury with rustic charm. It has a very cozy feel yet the amenities are top class whether you are talking about the rooms, pool, sauna etc.
However, a person should not stay at the Alpina unless they love food. The restaurant serves the half board guests a 5 course meal every night and it is no surprise that this restaurant wins multiple awards. You don’t just dine, you are immersed in a culinary delight. In the 10 days we stayed there, not only were the dishes never repeated but each presentation was a work of art that also was not duplicated.
Great charm, excellent amenities, delightful staff, food to cherish and all this in a perfect location to access the slopes, I recommend the Alpina to anyone who wants to visit Klosters. We were able to customize our booking to arrive on a Wednesday and leave on a Sunday. Personal service instead of the package weekly deals usually available. It’s not cheap but once you factor in the breakfast and dinners it is good value. I say this even with the horrible exchange rate caused by the weak dollar.

6.0Great location, quiet but as close as possible to all available transport to the slopes which vary between cable car, train or bus depending on which area you choose to ski on any particular day.

Gastronomy
6.0Fantastic! Real fireplace burning. Rustic but immaculate. Each part of our 5 course meal was not only delicious but presented as a work of art. It is clear why they are the top restaurant in Klosters.
Sport & Entertainment
6.0Has large indoor pool, fittness room. sauna. steam room, massages, internet accecc etc. May well have other stuff that I did not need.

6.0Unusally nice bathrooms for a European hotel with great water pressure. You will enjoy your own personal bathrobe and slippers which also come in handy for trips to the pool. The beds and pillows I wanted to bring home because they were so comfortable. Of course there is a lovely balcony and the rooms have a safe, tv, etc
