Hotel
5.0

The hotel caters primarily for Italian / German and east European visitors but as most of them (and the staff) had good English we did not feel out of place. It is a large newly built hotel complex made up of a number of accomodation blocks surrounding the ammenities. Overall we had a very good holiday, a few people we met moaned because their rooms were below expectation, meals were not to their liking and there were not enough facilities in the gym. It depends on what you want from a holiday; we used the jacuzzi and pools more than the gym/ sauna as a non-aerobic holiday is more our liking and we didn’t miss the lack of strawberries on the fruit counter. That said there were clearly some teething problems with amenities and finishing in some rooms due to it being a newly built hotel; the hotel staff conceded more needs to be done but appeared determined to remedy this over the coming winter. We would certainly go back and if they are good to their word on the improvements, it can only get better.

Location
4.0

Situated between Pefkos and Lardos surrounded by a small group of shops and restaraunts. The transfer time is about 1 hour from the airport depending on the number of drops. The local bus service runs past the hotel.

Service
5.0

Staff all very friendly with excellent language skills.

Gastronomy
4.5

We found that using the dining room later avoided the initial surge prior to the kids evening entertainment starting. There was a wide variety of food on offer most nights providing a mixture of Greek and European food, including vegetarian dishes. The sweets were typical Greek and too sugary for us but there were at least 6 different types of fresh fruit and various ice creams available so we always had a choice. The beer and soft drinks were good quality but the wine was drinkable more than memorable. One night I complained the white wine was warm; it turned out the chiller had broken but Stephanos the manager made amends with a couple of very nice bottles.

Sport & Entertainment
4.0

We went to the amphitheatre area on a couple of nights but its entertainment lended to kids rather than adults and teenagers; we got most fun at the pool bar, particularly with Maria the barmaid. Plenty sunbeds and water slides and mini pools for kids.

Room
5.0

The rooms we were allocated were finished to a high (by Greece) standard and the beds were comfortable for a change; the room did not have a great view but the upside was our patio (along with others on the ground level) had it's own waterfall or should I say water wall which was quite therapeutic and proved cooling in the evening.

Hotel review marks: 6 suns = very good … 1 sun = unsatisfactory
