Hotel review for Hotel Fanabe Costa Sur

Hotel

All in all, we were very satisfied and would go there once again. The whole hotel and its facility make a very neat impression (the hotel had been renovated in 2004).

Location

There's a bus stop directly next to the hotel, a convenient super-market vis-à-vis, it's approx. 10 minutes walk from Playa Fanabe, from the, prettier, Playe del Duque approx. 15-20 minutes walk. Because the hotel is located on the outskirts of the town, it's therefore very quiet. Twice a week, a big market takes place exactly next door.

Service

On the reception they were all very polite and helpful, most could speak German, and they all spoke English. Most of the waiters were polite; a few were a bit stressed. The rooms were always clean; the hand towels were changed every day.

Gastronomy

Unfortunately, on the 2nd morning we discovered a cockroach next to the coffee dispenser... Another time a chewing gum was stuck under the (actually clean) plate
-> those were, however, the only imperfections. Particularly recommendable are the pancakes in the mornings (which, unfortunately, are not served daily), as well as the chocolate- and vanilla ice-cream at dinner!!

Sport & Entertainment

Room

Our room was very big, clean and modern equipped. One can feel good therein. We had a relatively big balcony, which, in fact, went all the way to the street, but it was even so quiet. The bathroom was also clean. One is, unfortunately, allowed to use the refrigerator only when one has ordered at least 10 drinks -at once- (tip: simply order 10x small waters), then the fridge remains open for the rest of the stay, also when one doesn't order anything more.

Tips and recommendations

A lot of riding with the bus :o) since this is very inexpensive and there is an excellent bus network, furthermore one can also explore the island very well (tip: buy the Bono-Bus-Ticket at the main bus stations, then all the tickets recieve a 50% discount).
