Old and impersonal hotel with many defects
Hotel
2.0The hotel is very big, with five floors. The carpet floor was worn out and it had stains. Only two elevators for the entire hotel: 231 rooms with families with stollers and kids. 80% of the guests were English. The age average was families with kids.
Location
3.5The hotel has direct entrance to the beach, no street one. The location is good and the distance to the harbour and the town is not big. The bus stop is right in front of the hotel.
Service
2.5At the reception, only English is spoken because 80% of the guests are English (at the time of our trip). There is also German speaking staff. Complains (the toilett flushing in our case) were slowly taken care for (one hour). Room's cleanliness was satisfactory.
Gastronomy
3.0Pool-bar and snack-bar were satisfactory, they have a higher price than the average price in the town though.
Sport & Entertainment
3.0Daily animation for kids too. Beach chairs and umbrellas were available. There is a paddling pool, a kids pool and a normal pool. The cleanliness was good. Internet access is located in the lobby and it costs $0.50 cents per 6 minutes.
Room
1.5The appartments is getting old. A big living room with balkony, kitchenette, bedroom. The washroom is old and the water appliances do not always work (we had the flushing problem three times in ten days). The bedroom is good, but it does not have any daylight and is sometimes noisy.
Tips and recommendations
We have been in Puerto del Carmen repeated times, but it was the first time we booked this place; unfortunately, it was a letdown and we do not recommend it. In our previous vacations we were three times in Hotel Los Fariones (member of the same group) and we liked it better because of many reasons.
