Check-in was very easy. I had emailed ahead and requested a pool view room. We were allocated room 3211 (third floor) and it overlooked the centre of the pool – amazing view. There was plenty to do every day – and no pressure to get involved if you choose not to. Star Friends work so hard, both day and night. Also, as someone else has said, there is a towel system, where you hand in a card and get a towel. However, on one occasion, we left our beds to have a spot of lunch and when we returned one of the towels had gone missing, so be careful. They can charge you $10 for a replacement card, but on this occasion, we just signed a sheet and there was no charge. We were very careful after that.
We didn’t see the kids much – night or day! They made friends and entertained themselves. We were hoping they would use the kids club, but as they are a bit older (9 and 11) they said they found it a bit babyish.
My little boy had a birthday whilst we were there, and he was very pleased to get a birthday cake delivered to the room! Everyone at the hotel works very hard and is extremely friendly. There were people cleaning and maintaining the hotel the entire time. We mainly ate in the buffet restaurant – a very wide choice of food available. You can’t fail to find something you like. We tried the Mexican restaurant one night, but was very disappointed with the type of food there. We also tried the beach restaurant one evening and liked that a lot – although obviously not air conditioned, so was a bit uncomfortable.
We only did one trip – Ocean World – and although it was very expensive, it was well worth it. I would highly recommend this. We did the Dolphin Encounter. Amazing experience.
Weather – we had gorgeous weather, with a few showers most days. This was most welcome, because on the days it didn’t rain, it got very humid. There was a scare of a hurricane heading our way, but this was downgraded to a tropical storm, and just rained one day. Everyone was still in the pool though and sitting around drinking and eating, so it didn’t spoil our holiday in any way at all.
Wouldn't hesitate to return.
