Hotel review for Hotel Melia Cayo Coco

Wir haben dieses Hotel für das Ende unserer Kubareise ausgesucht, da wir auf keinen Fall in die Touristenhochburg Varadero wollten. Allerdings erwartete uns hier ähnliche Zustände, laute Animation, etc. Das Hotel ist schon etwas älter (bis auf die neuen Suiten in der Lagune) und abgewohnt. Wir waren vorher im Sol Cayo Santa Maria, das auch schon älter, aber sehr gepflegt und nett war. Hier waren wir eher enttäuscht. Die Anlage ist recht schön, der Pool aber sehr klein. Da dort den ganzen Tag laute Musik (und leider nicht nur kubanische) gespielt wird, findet man keinen Ort der Ruhe, außer am Strand. Dort war es zum Teil aber leider zu windig. Das Essen ist sehr gut. Man darf generell nie vergessen, dass man in Kuba ist, einem Land mit ausgeprägtem Sozialismus, und man eigentlich über jeden kleinen Luxus schon sehr froh sein sollte. Dennoch würden wir das Sol Cayo Santa Maria eher empfehlen, die Stimmung war dort einfach viel netter.
