Hotel review for Hotel RIU Mambo

Hotel

The hotel is super nice and solely consists of 1-2 floor houses, which are very clean and very good managed. There's just nothing negative to talk about in this hotel, it was just everything great, it deserves definitely 4-5 stars!!!

Location

The hotel is situated right on the beach, not on a large bay, which is very well arranged and beautifull.. It's about 9km till the next place, Puerto Plata. To our mind the Riu Mambo is the best part of all 3 Riu-Hotels.

Service

There's absolutely nothing to say about the service. Doesnt matter if it concerns the employees at the reception, toilette women, cleaning ladies, the animateurs or the waiters, all of them are unbelievably friendly, very kind and do their job with great pleasure.
Also the animateurs were not so officious. When you dont want to take part in the activities or in the evening shows, you'll be not be bothered. That I've already experienced in other hotels, where one is regularly forced to take part.

Gastronomy

The food was very manifold, with meat, especially beef, fish, noddles, rice, french fries, pizza, vegetables etc. There was everything there and there's something there for every taste. By the way one should add more salt especially to the vegetables...The cocktails in the bars were also so far very tasty, unfortunately only most of the cocktails were not fresh made, instead they were already prepared and were in ice-crushers.

Sport & Entertainment

The sport activities were absolutely ok, twice a day a volleyball is played, esle everyday football, table tennis, dart, boccia, shoe throwing, bingo, gymnastic, dance courses etc.
And that all every day.
When someone is not busy there, to my mind, it's his own fault. Besides there's a great barbeque on the beach, there was a romantic party right at the sea etc...There were really lot lots of things offered.

Room

The cleaniness in the rooms and everywhere at the hotel was super. I've actually never experienced something like that. The rooms were every day thoroughly cleaned, also the tooth brush spitzer was laid out away from the shower mirror, and I found the figures formed from the handtowels very pretty, when you provide a little bit of tip.

Tips and recommendations

Alltogether it was the nicest holiday we've ever had. We can absolutely recommend this hotel and we will always make a holiday there. The travel time Februar/March is great, in 14 days we had only one rainy day, by the way from mornings till evenings, on other day bright-eyed sunshines and always approx. 30 degrees.
You cannot use the mobiles in the whole Riu Resort, as soon as you are out of Purto Plata, you have no network coverage anymore, but the travel agent mentions that right away in the bus.
