Not so good at season end for small kids
Hotel
4.0Large complex consisting of two hotels. One hotel was completely shut due to it being end of season, therefore all the facilities in that hotel were closed, too.
Location
5.5Slap bang in the middle of Son Bou with restaurants, shops, beach all within 1 minute. Even an indoor bowling alley 2 minutes up the road which is very good and has soft indoor play area for under 5's. Bus stop right outside so you can take a trip into Mahon or any other resorts. We took an excursion to the aqua park which was good value and a nice day out.
Service
4.0I found the staff to be really friendly, attentive and helpful. The one problem was because it was the end of season, one hotel was completely shut down. There was no baby rock club (which was one reason we booked the hotel) although the kid rep said my daughter could participate with the older kids as long as she was accompanied. Lots of activities for kids and all the staff. Even the waiters and barmen were very kid friendly too. There is also a little cabin where you can borrow books, board games, fishing nets, buckets and spades footbals, etc so no need to take any of your own!
Gastronomy
3.5Food was good. A good variety, although pretty much the same variety most days. Salad, pasta, burgers, hot dogs, currys, chicken. In the week had a different meal every night, but dont know how it would fair on a 2 week holiday. Breakfast was cereal, cooked breakfast (fry up) toast, yogurts, fruits so very good. Again, due to it being end of season there was no kids buffet.
Sport & Entertainment
3.5Pool is lovely. lots of sunbeds, all with a flintstones theme. Very clean area. Entertainment is in about 4 different languages, and hotel had lots of italian guests, so it was always italian first! Entertainment itself was ok. due to there not being a lot of guests in the evening entertainment was lots of joining in stuff which was fun. we won a few t-shirts for the kids. They did put on a disney/ alladin show and my daughter played the part of princess jasmine, which was very good. Also had a flamenco dancing show (which was a little boring) Great outdoor play area with slides for kids. also a climbing wall. I think entertainment will be much better in june/july/august.
Room
3.0Rooms ok as long as you dont plan to spend all day in there. Everything you need - bed bath toilet tv safe. balcony is very small, but does have chairs and tables. quite bland, but not horrible.
Tips and recommendations
Generally a good holiday, was let down by lack of facilities only because of season ending. Next time i would go in june july august. Overall a nice family holiday.
Hotel review marks: 6 suns = very good … 1 sun = unsatisfactory
