Hotel

The place is very impressive because of the size and everything looks new. The park was very nice and a true chain of swimming pools. Two groups of guests: Young couples (with kids most of the time) and elderly people. Primary Germans, some Italians and Dutch.

Location

It is very isolated, amidst a banana-field and beside some lava rocks. It is 50 meters above the sea and it provides a view of the sea. For a walking vacation it is on the outskirts of the city, with adequate distance to the north. There are only three daily bus-connections; thus, it is recommendable to rent a car.

Service

The friendliness at the beginning was a bit cold. The service in the restaurant is not very good because of the time one has to wait to get the drinks.

Gastronomy

Excellent restaurant at the pool. The food was very abundant, but a bit boring without many spices, specially the vegetables. The food was often cold-warm, mornings and evenings. Typical dishes were rare.
Dessert buffet was available.

Sport & Entertainment

The only disappointment in this hotel is the size because the gym is very small with some equipment and most of it needed reparation. The spa had a nice 'blubber bad', but the 3 saunas are very small specially the Finnish; they do not have a lot of fresh air and are not very quiet either. Also, a really cold immersion basin is missing.

Room

Very clean mid-size rooms and very clean mid-size washrooms.

Tips and recommendations

The price ratio was very good at the end of February-beginning of March. The weather was good: 22*C with air, but the sunny side was very hot and that makes it ideal for people looking for a tan. For swimming fans: Of all the pools only one was warm (28*C), the others were cold (17-20*C). The prices in the hotel's shop high, but the closest supermarket is 500m away!
