5.0
We were there at the end of September with two small children (4 years and 2 years) and we were very happy, the more so as the weather was still good, not too hot, but just right for a nice swim. Alcuida is perfect for small children, because you can go miles into the water, it doesn't get any deeper, just superb.
The resort is very well maintained, and the guests were mostly from Germany and Scandinavia (no British!). There are washing machines and dryers in the main building, which the guest can use free of charge- ideal for a family with small children.
Otherwise I would come back anytime, highly recommended for families with children!!
Location
5.5The Viva Bahia is a lovely family apartment-hotel very close to the beach.
Service
5.5The employees were very friendly and polite. There was a good mini-club for the four year-olds, with very caring supervision.
Gastronomy
4.5The food was varied, lovingly prepared and good, there were Ikea plastic crockery sets available for the little ones, high chairs available, in short they've thought of everything. A play area for the kids would have been great because they finished their food a lot quicker than we did.
Sport & Entertainment
5.0In the evening there was a children's disco and afterwards entertainment for the grown-ups in the form of musicals or singing. The tables were brightly lit by the lamps on baby monitors- the sheer number of which sometimes caused problems. My tip: bring a walkie talkie set. The kids enjoyed using the lovely, big pool, the really cold water also didn't bother the youngest.
Room
4.5We had a lovely apartment with living room and bedroom, as well as a kitchen area with a fridge and a small stove. The beds were fine, there was enough storage space for all our luggage, the bathroom was big and well maintained and the small kitchen was also adequately equipped. So far so good. What we didn't like was the lay out of the apartments- we could only get to our bedroom by going via the kids' room. We just swapped the beds around so that the two of them didn't wake up if we were out at night. By the way, you have to pay extra for a cot- it's expensive at about €7 a day. Next time we'll take a travel bed with us.
Hotel review marks: 6 suns = very good … 1 sun = unsatisfactory
