Excellent hotel in Alboraya-Valencia

4.5The Solvasa Hotel Olympia (the full name of Hotel Olympia as it is named in Tripadvisor) is an excellent 4**** hotel in Alboraya-Valencia. It has 167 rooms at a reasonable price.

From your hotel room you can see the metro, which has a very good connection with the city centre (5 stops in about 7 min.) which is extremely busy and during the time we where there (Fallas 2007) even chaotic. We were very pleased to stay out of the city centre. If you do not like fireworks do not stay in Valencia at that time: night and day you hear firework explosions; when you like regional costumes and pageants than you will get your share. The old city is very small and is not worth to visit again. The sandy city beach is quiet and not too exploited.
From the airport we took an taxi which is about 15 euro plus 1 euro per trunk. From the airport there is no bus to the hotel, only to the city centre.

Breakfast is really very good and abundant, with warm and cold buffet, although it is rather expensive: 11, 77 euro. We once had dinner in the restaurant and that was terrible: bad quality of the meat and badly prepared. Wine was very good, at 9 euro per bottle.

We booked two twin rooms on the 5th floor. These are really large and clean rooms with two separated, large beds with very good mattresses. There is an extremely good working, soundless airco and a double-glazed window (although curiously you still can hear the traffic from outside). At the head of the bed there is a very large mirror and the doors of the cupboard have a mirror too. There is a mini bar, a writing table (again with a mirror) and a connection to the internet. The bathroom, which is rather large too, has a bath-tub and a very good shower and all amenities you need.
Tips and recommendations
Attendance in Valencia is all in all unkind and even policemen do not understand English.
All in all, the hotel is very recommendable.
