Perfect hotel for short stay *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ANice, clean city hotel with about 150 rooms in which especially business travellers, especially from Austria, the ex- Yugoslavia and also from Holland, hang out. We have a city trip than incentive trip there and bed and breakfast basis. I think that you can also book half board.
Location
The hotel is not right in the center of the city but it is directly next to it. The train station is about a 5 minute walk. To reach the city center (old town) is about 10 minutes walk. From the airport, take the taxi about 20 - 25 minutes and cost approximately 200 kuna (about 18€). You can also take the bus to the nearby bus station - which took 45 minutes, but is a little cheaper (approx. €2 ). The only downside to the location is that it is on a busy main road. With a room facing the street, you can not open the window at night. In the back of the hotel one didn't hear anything more from the street noise.
The staff is very friendly and courteous, no matter if at the reception, the bar, the restaurant and the cleaning staff. They are very happy totally, if you tried his few Kroatischkenntnisse nameplate. Otherwise you could get by with English and German good clear. The room cleaning was okay.
Gastronomy
The breakfast was very good and rich. There was basically everything one on breakfast can think of. The quality was very good. You can have lunch or dinner. The we didn't try it. Everything around the food plays in a room, just off the lobby, the.
Sport & Entertainment
We did not use it. But a colleague that already often there was claimed that both the gym and the spa, which is on the top floor of the hotel, very good. The lobby has two internet access for check-in a User-ID and password per room. The shopping possibilities were huge. So, a shopping center with several shops directly to the hotel and from the city center with numerous shops of all kind, anchored by a giant daily flowers and vegetable market is 10 minutes away on foot. Also there are so many sights (various churches, Theater, hotel Esplanade, etc. ) and plenty of restaurants, cafes and pubs nearby center/old town. I especially is the large number of very nice outdoor noticed in the city. Plastic chairs seemed to be a problem. Everywhere there were only overstuffed wicker chairs or sofas.
Room
The rooms are quite large and clean. All the furniture is not the most comfortable. It is very functional. The bathroom is in comparison to the room rather small but satisfying. There are cable-TV and minibar. For a short city break the rooms are just fine. A longer holiday but I would not want to spend.
Tips and recommendations
The weather is approximately by German to compare. Maybe it is warmer. There is no everywhere with euros for that. But due to the numerous ATM or even at the hotel reception you can move or the local currency exchange kuna (7 kuna is about 1 euros). Food and beverage are a little cheaper than in Germany. Come but nothing about it. can introduced to get your moneys worth, if you get local draft beer. It's delicious. However, there were numerous restaurants and pubs in the locals only from bottles, while you some foreign, especially Dutch or Belgian draft beers.
