Excellent all-round family hotel
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel comprises of 2 buildings. The main building where the facilities, restaurant and reception are and Haus Thaller which is no more than 20 metres away and contained only rooms. We stayed at Haus Thaller as it was cheaper and we didn't mind the short skip to main building for meals etc. A family run hotel with attentive and friendly owners and fantastic service. It has adequate facilities to keep children busy while the parents lounge around. Hence, the title - a very good all-round family hotel. I think it would also suit singles and couples! The location is superb and the food - fantastic!
Location
The hotel is superbly located just a few steps away from kid's slope (Juniorland) where you can drop off your kids for skiing lessons on your own way to the more challenging Flying Mozart cable cars. It is also at Juniorland that you can catch the bus to other skiing areas like Grafenberg. Our room which was at Haus Thaller had a balcony that directly faced the Juniorland slope itself, so the view was fantastic! Even if you are impatient and want to get Flying Mozart before everyone else, it is only a 400 meters walk away... Yet it is not close to any noisy Apreski location - so if you prefer a quite location but not too far from the action - this is it. Location is Tops!
Service is fantastic! The owners are friendly and always around. The service people try to be accommodating and the barman can crack jokes too! Most of the service people can speak German and English. Room is well taken care off and the houskeeping is quite creative with the linen... !

There may not be enough space here to describe the quality of the food. Breakfast is a feast and the egg-man takes his sunny-side ups seriously. Then there is a tea break with interesting offerings in the evening before you get served a 4 course meal for dinner. The main courses are not only deliciously but they are very well-presented. Makes you want to dress up for dinner - you don't have to of course.
Sport & Entertainment
Especially for kids, you can leave them running around the hotel and yet feel that they are not to far away. This describes Wagrain in general. A Great place for families and the hotel even more self-sufficient. The owners are ever so attentive and we felt very much at home.
Room
Great room we had at Haus Thaller. We didn't stay at the main building as we wanted to save some cost. So, we had to deal with the minor inconvenience of walking about 20 meters in the snow for our meals. I wouldn't even call it an inconvenience. The room size was adequate for 3 and the housekeeping is great. The best was our balcony which faced the ski slope at Juniorland. The view was thus fantastic and we can even check on how busy the slope was.
