Alpenherz Hotel

The hotel is located in a small village called Gerlos in Tyrol, a really beautiful landscape, surrounded by Alps mountain. The world famous Krimml Waterfalls are only some km far from here.
I don't know the shopping facilities as we did not have to buy anything.

The hotel is owned by Erhart Family. They spoke good Engish, they were very kind and friendly, helped us in everything.
Other services: There is a seminar room for 15 max. people, meditation room, wellness area with Finnish sauna, infrared therapy cabin, solarium and massage.
The hotel in general, the restaurant and our room was really clean all the time.
There was free internet access in the hotel, but somehow it did not function in my room, so I could use the PC of the hotel free.

The hotel offers only breakfast.
There are 2 kinds of juice (orange, multivitamin), bread, salami, cheese, ham, fruit salad, paté, jam, fruit yogurt, so nothing special indeed.
Tea, coffee and hot dishes like ham & eggs or boiled egg are prepared according to your wish and choice.
The breakfast room had a pleasant atmosphere with view to the mountains and a small stream.

Our room was spacious, quite large. They have really big and comfortable beds (2,10 m long), wooden furniture, 2 armchairs, mini safe in the cupboard, TV mainly with German-speaking channels, mini fridge, a bottle of water, some fresh fruits. We had no balcony.
The bathroom was smaller sized but enough for us, it was equipped with shower only (no bath), and there was a hair-dryer.
Everything was clean and new.

We visited Hintertux glacier which is about 1 hour far from Gerlos by car. Beautiful area and there is a possibility to visit a glacier cave at 3.250 m altitude. Unforgettable adventure! As there was no possibility to have dinner is our hotel, we went to the restaurant of Sportalm Hotel in Gerlos (only 200 m from Alpenherz Hotel). They had really good kitchen with enormous portions at reasonable price.
