Great little resort at Mount rainier national park *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe resort has 16 apartments in two main buildings, as well as a neighboring honeymoon cabin for 2 and a Gruppengebäude (newly constructed building on the model of 1920) for 10 to 40 people. Between the two main buildings is still a outdoor pool and on the edge of a small building a table tennis and table football. The condo is on the main buildings are including a wood burning fire place in the living room equipped with all on 2 floors room for 6 to 8 persons. A restaurant is missing, it is a more for self-catering holiday-decorated, but there was a small store where you can buy everything we needed. dry cleaning and laundry change and daily cleaning in each unit. There were mostly American and Canadian families, the holiday. Most stay 1 to 3 nights.
Location
The resort is located in the middle of the National Forest on the highway 410 is located about 3 miles from the entrance to the Mount rainier National Park. To the Crystal Mountain ski area is about 6 miles. The Sunrise Visitor Center in the national park about 20 miles. The next small places like Ashford or Randel Greenwater in the south, respectively in the north are more than 30 miles from the resort. In the summer you can extensive tours in the National Forest or National Park enterprise, in the winter, the Crystal Mountain ski area not far away.
The service is limited while it may be just about the room cleaning, but very good. Little shop, the same time which seems to act as a reception was very friendly and helpful.
Gastronomy not available
The nearest restaurant is located in the 6 miles away Crystal Mountain ski resort, which also open in summer.
Sport & Entertainment
In the summer the nice heated outer pool lokt, at bad weather there was then only the possibility to play table tennis and table football. The pool is clean, all around were beach chairs, small tables and parasols.
Room
The apartments have a open plan living/dining room with kitchen, the apartments on the upper floor having from the living room from small balcony. In our apartment there was next to it in the Eingangsgeschoss added a bedroom for 2 people and a bathroom. From the living room was a steep staircase (head) in the living room open 1st floor in the another 2 queen beds and another separate bathroom. In some apartments in the living room there is a sofa bed. There were 2 floors in a flat screen TV. The kitchen was a full-sized refrigerator, stove with oven and microwave. Coffee maker and dishwasher completed the from.
Tips and recommendations
The Alta Crystal Mountan resort is not a special offer, as a location for visiting the Mount rainier national parks but a very reasonable alternative to some of the two Parklodges. The units made the impression that you are well equipped for a winter, the resort was formerly a pure ski resort.
