Good Hotel with Nice Rooms *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe state of the hotel was in order with the exception of one area where the paint was peeling off. The hotel has approximately 210 rooms, 6 floors, 4 elevators (although only three work), a pool area although the water was fairly cold but was okay, we usually had the pool all to ourselves because no one wanted to be in the cold water. The best was that you couldn´t leave your deck chair or else you have to search for your towels. The hotel doesn´t have enough deck chairs so when you leave your chair they are occupied immediately thereafter! Other than that, the hotel had a large foyer, a bar, a fitness room, indoor swimming pool, and sauna. Jacuzzi, but with a fee. In the hotel there were almost only renters and older people. One has to look at that!
Location
The ¨city¨was no city. But those who like bars will feel right here. In approximately 1 km there are souvenir shops, which are highly recommendable. In the city, one can rent tandems for 10€ per hour or bicycles for 3€ per hour, as well. It was approximately 5 minutes to the beach, which was rather pebbly. The bus ride to the hotel lasted between 30 minutes and an hour, depending on the busdriver.
The service in the hotel is truly praiseworthy. The rooms were cleaned every day and one received fresh, clean towels daily. The service in the restaurant was also good, as soon as one´s plate was empty, it would be cleared away. The reception desk personnel was especially friendly.
Gastronomy
The restaurant was somewhat small for so many people and the selection at the buffet was not exactly good. The same was offered every day, but at least the vegetables were okay. But, all in all, the food was okay.
Sport & Entertainment not available
There was no entertainment available in the hotel. We were very disappointed because of this. There is none in May and the beginning of June, but I think that there might be some entertainment as of the middle of June. There was an animator there but he just turned up his music after 11 am and that was it. So, those who are looking for entertainment should book later or go to another hotel!!
Room
We were very enthusiastic about our room. We normally would have gotten two studios, but got two apartments instead, which were very large for two people. But that was, of course, super. They were amazingly furnished with a large bedroom, a living/bed room with satellite television (approximately 9 German channels), a fully furnished kitchen, and a large balcony. Our room was on the 6th floor, so we had a view of the pool and ocean. The rooms which lead to a trail are not recommended, as many stray dogs and cats walk around and an apartment building for locals is situated right there.
Tips and recommendations
I would definitely rent a car. One day costs approximately 46-55€ (cheapest) but this way you can familiarize yourself with the southern part of Spain. For young adults or families with somewhat older children, this is not particularly the party town of Spain, since renters and older people vacation here. But the hotels in this area are all worthy of recommendation.
