Delicious food, but a theft destroys it all
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AWe arrived in this hotel in the beginning of April for some relaxing days. Rodrigues is perfect for that. The Hotel staff welcommed us friendly and the food was amazing! Breakfast with fresh fruit, tea and omlette, dinner with soup, main dish and desert. It is a cozy small hotel with ca. 6 rooms, terasse, restaurant and pool area. You can order B&B or halfboard pension.
The rooms have Air con, fan and a TV and seem to be clean at the first look. But the first room we have been living in unfortunatly smelled like moult and I got serious allergies (housedust). We asked if we can change the room on the next day. And the hotel staff was really helpfull in doing it. But also the next room was not good for a person like me with housedust allergies.
In all these days we havn't tried out the pool, because the water was green and blury at all time, even when they cleaned it daily. But you have beautifull beaches all over the island :-)
Location
high up in the mountain it is easy to reach all the coastlines within 30 mins with own transport, nce view donw the hills.
To the airport it takes around 30 mins with a scooter.
And now the really sad thing about this friendly island:
the hotelstaff changend our luggage from the first so the second room, when we havn't been at the hotel. After we came back I realised: my passport is stolen, my german identity card is stolen as well as my travelmoney out of my wallet (someone checked all the cards and disordered my whole wallet). And unfortunatly the hotelmanager was not helpfull at all... she screamd at me, called me a liar and didn't help us to call the police.
So, even if the hotel seems nice in the beginning, this leaves a bad taste in the end.
Gastronomy
really good, fresh food in the restaurant at dinner time. It tastes a bit like a mixture from "grandma cooking at home" and typical creol cuisine. In the restaurant you just have 5 tables so it is really cozy
Sport & Entertainment
no animation or sport possebilities, and see like above: pool green and blury
Room
nice furnished roomes with huge bed, Tv, sofa and seperate Bathroom. But really stressfull for me as a person with housedust allergies.
