Hotel in an excellent location-but the restaurant *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A ABest Western hotel am Muenster Breisach in Breisach am in Rhine Best Western hotel am Münster in Breisach in Breisach Rhine is exposed to the cathedral mountain and offers due to its location a wonderful panoramic view of the Rhine, the kaiserstuhl, tuniberg, the day trips to the markgräfler land to the Black Forest and the Vosges mountains. The by far visible landmark porridge Sachs, Cathedral of St. Stephanus, is located in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. The hotel was divided into the striking over a tunnel complex and to branch 'Bellevue'. The Rhine side is possibly the most beautiful terrace in the kaiserstuhl to stay. A pay garage helps to offset the parking lot. Restaurants 'view 'and' cathedral Vosges waiters '(closed for renovations), ' Münsterbar ' (also closed, the reason was not obvious) and a swimming pool (which is also used by locals) with sauna and wellness area complete this spacious area of the hotel. Free Internet point in the hall is nearby the front desk available. For the duration of your stay will be issued at the front desk an access. Wireless keyboard and mouse can be rented. We were greeted at the check-in friendly and with our best Western diamond card we were given a free upgrade to a nice room (room 414) comfort with balcony and a view of the Rhine and offered. The room was spacious and we felt very comfortable there. The underground parking was ordered for us with a sign has been reserved. From the friendly, helpful and professional appearance of the staff in the front desk We were impressed. Unfortunately this positive impression of the hotel was being by the presence of the staff in the restaurant 'Vosges view' (Alsatian-Baden cuisine) and the restaurant performance badly clouded over not to say, it was a 'failure' and point-deductions in the rating. In the context of the half-board was there on the first evening Schmor/roast, since the knife to blunt were, he was inedible. The next night we were served lamb hock, easily have been able to cook some time to lose resilience. By staff eingeschenkte porridge Sacher volcano rocks (red wine) was more on the table than in the glass. This previous knowledge we handle the third night liver, it was served with cheese pie escalope therefor, which was nothing. The meals were nice to look at as they are served, you could not only concern itself with that. Unusually for a hotel of this class was also, that the service was bad. Set has, after the restaurant closed at 18:00 o'clock open and guests were present. The menu cards arrived later. The breakfast buffet was okay, but the comparison with other four stars not Best Western. We were, except that the wine and aperitif-on the request list could not present. We were told, that beer, coke and so on! Could have?! 'perfection' is not a trivial matter, but little things make perfection. For someone not good on foot, is the arduous climb (cobblestones) to the hotel in the City shopping, not recommended. Breisach in Breisach is an ideal starting point for interesting excursions, such as, for example, Freiburg, in the Black Forest (land), according to Basel or to the nearby Alsace (Colmar, skin king Bourg), but also the ride in and around the kaiserstuhl. Breisach in Breisach lock in even rides on the Rhine, the survey and guided tours of the champagne producer Geldermann. In no case should you the two, five hour guided tour of the 'Baden Winzerkeller eG', Europe's biggest wine producer, miss.
