Beach location, staff rather unfriendly, expensive *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AAs the conclusion part of our trip through California we wanted to treat ourselves to a few days holiday. Of course there was also a visit to Sea World. Due to the location right on the beach and the good reviews we checked in at the Blue Sea lodge.
The room with a partial view of the Pacific Ocean in the same building as the reception. A bit annoying was, that the balcony to a public parking lot showed where (as we noticed) the public showers & toilets for surfers.
The location right on the beach was ideal. Walk/bike path was only between the hotel and the beach.
During our stay there was no breakfast included in the price (which is why we usually went to the nearby Starbucks). We were slightly surprised about this, as with all other Best Western hotels on our trip a small breakfast was included in the room rate.
We were a little surprised, that the parking was charged. So the Blue Sea lodge per day seen nearly as expensive (despite AAA discount)! the four star superior hotel as in San Francisco!
Since we had already had a little sceptical when we checked in we were only for three nights signed (, even though we actually wanted to stay here for six nights). After we had to say that the staff at the reception was rather unfriendly, we decided to go to three nights away.
In the surroundings there are several restaurants which are highly recommended (Tony Romas). Furthermore, the location is ideal for trips (by car of course ☺ to SeaWorld, Coranado island...
