Split on an impression *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe Best Western hotel is easy to find, being well signed from the main roads. The first impression of the hotel complex was really good. Had to wait at the front desk was as high season and were a lot of people wanting to check in. Apparently the hotel was fully booked at this time (in high season make reservations! ). Since the hotel was overbooked, we were upgraded our pre-booked standard accommodation in a house, which was also offered is on site. Serves apparently now and again as the guest house of visitors to the hotels. Our two night stay there should then take place. The house was very large, but it was already a bit old. As you also unfortunately no view of the beach had (from all the hotels rooms balcony or terrace on the beach-side), you but very locked. Since we didn't like the night at the hotel, we were given a suite for the second night provided. This was just great and had a great view of the beach and the sea (e.g. B. Also from the jacuzzi next to the bed).
Location
The location of the hotel was really good. The hotel is right on the beach. There you could easily unwind beach walks and recover. Also in the evening at sunset, the views from the hotel of the beach and the sea a beautiful panorama. For shopping is about the place Tofino (a few minutes by car). In the other direction you go to the Pacific Rim National Park (in about 10 minutes to reach by car).
The staff was very friendly. A very nice lady from the front desk helped us a reservation to the ferry back to Vancouver. On our complaint regarding the night at the guest house (see under the hotel generally") was reacted immediately and without fuss check. You can't handle with a complaint.

Sport & Entertainment
The hotel has a small fitness center (1 bike, 1 cross trainers, 1 treadmill and weight training for 1 device). The view is good (right on the sea front), but the windows were very dirty and fitness equipment already very old and rusty! There was more disgusting to work out. There is also a jacuzzi, which we didn't use.
Room
Description of the suite, as the house I think, usually not granted (see under the hotel generally"): separate living and sleeping areas. The living room was very comfortable (with a fireplace, TV and great views to the sea from the couch). In addition, there is a desk in the living room and a small kitchen integrated, which we didn't use. But it seemed very clean. The bathroom is both accessible from the living room as well as the bedroom (not spectacular, but enough and very clean). The bedroom is great. Next to the bed was a jacuzzi, which is directly on the beach and see the sea. AMAZING! You can sit in the hot tub and enjoy the sunset. In the bedroom there is also a second TV. The balcony was very large and both from the sitting room as well as the bedroom to celebrate.
Tips and recommendations
Definitely book whale watching (best one day before). The "rain forest trail" at the Pacific Rim National Park is also highly recommended. It is well worth it for the dinner sushi restaurant "The Inn at tough city" directly on the sea. While you eat delicious sushi, you'll have a great boats and watch the planes taking and float planes landing.
