Solid, affordable hotel *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel had already come into the years, but was clean and would recommend it for the price. The unadorned three-story building was built around the largest (chilled) Pool in Sharjah, and was located directly on the sea. Unfortunately, there were not enough umbrellas for everyone, but the beach boys did a good job in removing the unused ones, so we were always able to lie in the shade after at least half an hour wait. For example, there were approximately 70% of Russians and 30% of Germans (mostly retired).
Location
Directly on the private beach, and only 20 minutes away from the airport. The water was beautifully clear and clean, the beach was fine sand and clean. Unfortunately, the beach was not very large, so that the extensive beach walks were not possible. Free daily shuttle buses to Sharjah and Dubai, by taxi it cost around 10 Euro to Dubai (City Center). Supermarket was a 5-minute walk, where one could buy cheap drinks.
Languages spoken: one could always get by with English. German was not spoken. Our room was always cleaned perfectly. At the pool, you could buy cheap snacks (such as burgers and fries for 5 Euro). There was a souvenir shop in the hotel where you could also buy cigarettes, cards, sunscreen lotion, etc., and two clothing stores and a hairdresser.
Gastronomy
There was a restaurant, which offered breakfast and dinner in buffet style. The choice of food was not very large, and it was not especially tasty. But it was filling. Nevertheless, I would book only room with breakfast next time, mostly because one tended to be in Dubai in the evenings, or one could eat affordable meals at the pool. The cleanliness and the quality of food were perfect.
Sport & Entertainment
Besides jet ski you could do nothing else on the beach. For children there was a small playground, but was fully in the sun. The pool was large and beautifully cooled down to about 26 degrees. At the reception, there was an internet access (we did not use it though).
Room
Very spacious rooms. The beds were placed apart by default, but could also be combined. The air conditioner was quiet and cooled the room very well. Safe was free in the room. Each room had a balcony with sea view and had its own fridge and TV (German programs were ZDF, DW, RTL, and RTL II). The Equipment had seen better days, but still everything was clean and nothing was broken.
Tips and recommendations
Take the evening shuttle bus at 20:00 to Dubai, and then take a taxi back (about 10 to 15 Euro). In the shopping malls, there were plenty of food courts with affordable food, so I would only book a room with breakfast. We were in Sharjah at the end of Ramadan and actually experienced no restrictions in the hotel.
