Could have been 6/6!
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe room and location was absolutely fabulous!
Car parking was free at the car park across the road by placing a business pass from the B&B on the dashboard of the car.
Overall, it is a place I would recommend however, it was a shame that we were letdown by such minor issues which they could have avoided.
Location
Location of the B&B was perfect! By following the chainlink in the pavement, it was possible to get to Gunwharf Quays and Spinnaker tower within 15 minutes by foot. We did not need our car once whilst we were there. We even walked to Southsea along the coast.
Peaceful location in the evenings with a fantastic view of Spinnaker Tower just on the doorstep.
The rating would have been 5/6 had they not folded up the towels we placed in the shower tray for replacment for us to use again. It was only because they were still wet that we realised they had put them back for us to use again even though a placard on the wall clearly stated that if you wanted fresh towels to place your used towels in the shower tray or bath. Small touches such as replacing tissue boxes and toilet rolls would not have gone amiss.
Gastronomy
The Sallyport Tearoom was lovely and cosy with a nice selection for breakfast and afternoon snacks. The only criticism I would have is hygiene. This could have been improved.
Sport & Entertainment not available
Room
Upon arrival, we were shown to the Green Room which was beautiful but with a view of a brick wall. The room was very clean, comfortable and equipped with tea/coffee making facilities and freeview TV. The only downside was that there was no mini fridge.
The room was very clean.
Tips and recommendations
Check your towels once they have made up your room and make sure any queries you have are answered during the tearoom opening hours.
Come 5pm, the tearoom closes and therefore there is nobody available in the event of any assistance being required. There is mention in the welcome book that in the event of an emergency, Lesley-Anne can be contacted but for general queries, there is nobody available outside of the tearoom hours.
