This is a small family-run hotel with 15 rooms (3 stories) in good condition (fairly new). The owners, a Turkish couple, are very hospitable and although they do not speak any foreign languages, they are prepared to communicate with "hands and feet" and make you feel as welcome as possible. Breakfast is included in the price, and drinks are available all day. There are no special business services, but free wireless Internet is available in the whole building. There is no lift, therefore the hotel is not suitable for guests with disabilities.

Location
4.0
Suns

The hotel is located on the outskirts of the village of Göynük, about 40 km from Antalya airport. Public transport (dolmus) to the beach, to Antalya and to Kemer is available within 2-3 minutes walking distance from the hotel, and shops, bars, restaurants etc. can be reached within 10-15 minutes. The beach is about 30 minutes walking distance, foothills of the Taurus mountains are within hiking distance.

The owners are very friendly and make you feel welcome as a part of the family. Although they do not speak any foreign languages, it is still possible to communicate, and their son speaks English and Greek fluently. Check-in is uncomplicated, payment in cash is preferred over payment by credit card (in Turkey the credit card companies charge 18% fees!!!).

Gastronomy
2.0
Suns

Other than breakfast, meals are not included, but the owners will occasionally invite their guests for meals in the afternoon or evening, and drinks are available at all times. This hotel is really suitable for travellers who prefer to go out and eat in typical local restaurants. In early spring, when the oranges are ripe, the owners will actually go into their garden and pick oranges to squeeze for your breakfast, and in summer they are happy to serve you all kinds of fruits from their garden.

Sport & Entertainment

Suns

The hotel has an outdoor swimming pool and wireless internet is available in all rooms.

Room

Suns

The rooms vary in size from rather small to spacious (and the room rates vary accordingly). They are tastefully but simply furnished and equipped with air-conditioning (serves as heating in winter) and satellite TV. The ensuite bathrooms are very simple (bathroom = shower cabin).

Tips and recommendations

This is definitely a hotel for individual travellers who want to stay somewhere off the beaten tourist tracks and breathe in some of the local atmosphere and flair. The best time to go is probably in spring (April-May) and autumn (September-October), when it is not too hot and you can also go for hikes in the nearby Taurus mountains.
