Absolutely fantastic *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe complex is simply beautiful! Everything is well-arranged according to the typical southern style. The rooms and bungalows are comfortably large. At the beginning, problems with the room were handled very quickly after having a brief exchange with the receptionist. Air conditioning, TV, hair dryer . . . everything one needs is available.
The different restaurants (Italian, Mexican, Indian and Chinese), which were included in all-inclusive (make reservations one day earlier), are all very nicely arranged.
The main patch between the beach and the main restaurant is guarded at night. This gives a person a feeling of safety, especially when the person is a fearful women walking alone ...
Location
The hotel is located directly on the beach and therefore perfect for a seaside holiday. The beach is cleaned by the staff every morning and the rubbish from the day before is removed. Unfortunately, too many people leave their cigarette butts in the sand, but is that the hotel's fault? No, and as mentioned, every morning the rubbish is removed.
There are a couple of apartment buildings surrounding the hotel a few meters away. Therefore, it's not suitable to take evening walks outside the hotel area.
The city of Tunis can be reached on one's own by taxi for around 70 Dinar for a round trip with the same taxi driver. However, Medina is very narrow and winding.
The staff is always friendly, even during Ramadan they always have a smile for you. Always consider: treat people as you'd want to be treated yourself!
German is not a problem for most, and if so, one can always communicate by miming and gesturing =)
Otherwise, English is also good, everyone understands it. Whoever can speak a little French has a huge advantage since it is the second language of the Tunesians.
Thankfully, we did not need a doctor, but we did hear that one is available who also speaks German.
The complaints were handled immediately, as was the changing of the rooms and also of a keg of beer, which was flat.
Gastronomy
The food in the main bar was typical Tunesian and quite greasy. Nevertheless, everyone found something to eat.
Breakfast was great, everyone found their favourites, be it Corn Flakes, croissants or bread rolls, jam, honey or cold cuts, everything was available. There was coffee, tea, milk and juices. Crepes and omelettes were also freshly made .
Lunch and dinner were quite good, a bit of variety and a good quantity. We were very enthused with the freshly grilled fish and the meat and pasta, which was cooked freshly according to the ingredients one chose, and the chef was really funny =)
All in all one was always full, and if one found the food too greasy, there was also baguette with cold cuts, cheese and fresh vegetables.
Great importance was put on cleanliness here, especially with the grills, which were cleaned thoroughly after every meal.
Sport & Entertainment
There was a mini golf course located directly in the complex, which was somewhat hilly and the balls jumped a little over the course, but that just made it all the more fun.
The hotel also offers 2 tennis courts.
The entertainment team also held volleyball tournaments and offered archery.
The pool is nice and large and offers a large lying area.
There are bazars in the hotel complex, where one can buy anything from small souvenirs to authentic clothing brands.
Internet is also available, naturally for a small fee.
Jet Ski, banana boats and paragliding were all offered on the beach, at extra charge.
Room
The room size is comfortable. Much is available in the room (A/C, TV, hair dryer). The remotes are available against a deposit of 20 Dinar each (10€). Otherwise, a bed (either made of wood or masoned) and 2 small nightstands, a "desk" and a chair are in the rooms. There are 2 chairs and a small table on the balcony. The bathroom includes either a shower or a bathtub.
All in all, the rooms are very simple, however how much time is spent in the room when on a seaside holiday???
Tips and recommendations
Most of the safes in the hotel function with a 9 volt battery. It would be advantageous to take one with you (they cost not even 1€ here in Germany).
Unfortunately, the pool chairs are without cushions, which is why we took Yoga mats with us, so we could lie more comfortably. However, air mattresses would also be suitable.
The quad bike tours may only be sold by the hotel vendor. At the beginning, he wants 25€, let him wait a couple of days, show him you're interested but also tell him he's too expensive. Then he'll give you a special price of 20€ per person.
Unfortunately, the camel tour is not so recommendable since they take you through a countryside that is quite dirty.
Trips we recommend:
Berber towns with a 4x4
Sidi Bou Said and Carthage
The pirate tour (actually saw dolphins)
