Chic apartment hotel in the heart of downtown Vancouver *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe Carmana Plaza is a serviced apartment in middle of Vancouver. The hotel has four different we had made on 35 floors. As usual for apartments breakfast is not provided, have its own restaurant is not available, but the location isn't bad. We really liked that every day we got a paper on the door. Less that there was no free internet, this could be booked for $10 per day. The usual guests in this hotel are Asians, but this in Vancouver nothing special, as on roads the majority of from Asians.
Location
From the airport to the hotel must be 30 - 45 minutes depending on traffic be expected. The location of the hotel could hardly have been better, it is located downtown Vancouver, across from the hotel is located just off a supermarket (Urban Fare). Other (cheaper) supermarkets are within 10 minutes is easy to find. The hotel is located near several very good restaurants serve all flavors (from Italian to Japanese Steakhouse is everything) The famous shopping street "Robson Street" is the paralel the Alberni Street where the hotel is located. Major malls are just a walk easily accessible. Excursions can be easily from the hotel also start. The nearest Skytrain station is only a few minutes away. I would also recommend at least a lap around Stanley Park around. The Park is about 10 minutes' walk from the hotel and is something like the green area Vancouver. On the 6.0 miles loop around Stanley Park can many animals (seals, birds) are detected and in good weather you can also see the edges of Vancouver Island. Also the mauntain Grouse Mountain is from Stanley Park from good to see.
The staff speaks English, French and the national language the foreign languages Chinese and Japanese. It's very friendly and had every passing by a friendly "hello" at the counter and a smile. The rooms were cleaned every day, however could have been a bit more thorough (from and to be able to have a fuzz on the wood floors). The hotel also has a laundry in the itself can be washed.
Gastronomy not available
Sport & Entertainment
The hotel has a fitness room with the usual equipment. The appliances were all in good condition and very clean.
Room
We had a "executive suite" with about 60sqm. Accommodations include a full kitchen (fridge, stove, dishwasher, crockery, pots, toaster, etc. ), A living area with leather sofa, leather armchairs, and LCD TV. Also in the spacious bedroom has a small LCD TV on the wall. Our room had a fantastic view of the Pacific Ocean and the surrounding mountains of Vancouver. A safety deposit box and air conditioning was also available.
Tips and recommendations
For travellers could cook offers this apartment style hotel located on as shopping in the immediate vicinity. As most of the restaurants are expensive relativized wants to high room rate through the self catering (our unit at $205 per night) a word about the weather: we had in our 3 weeks end of August, beginning of September only 3 rainy days, and even though Vancouver due to the proximity to the Pacific Ocean quite "rain" city. The temperatures 59euro between 18 and 25 degrees.
