Well run clean and comfortable family hotel with warm welcom
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe hotel has room on 3 floors of vasiour sizes, though I do not know how many (would guess around 20). Ther hotel has a breakfast room but no restaurant. Terms are bed and breakfats or I believe room only. The building is traditional in style but modern. There is a lift to all floors, and guests have a card system for night time access to the lobby. Family rooms are a good size.
Location
Just a few minutes walk from Interlaken West station and the lake, the hotel is in a quiet square close to shops and restaurants and a pleasnt walk the length of the main street to Ost station for the mountain wailways.
The family who run the hotel are wlcoming and friendly. They speak English well, and nothing is too much trouble. I have stayed here 4 times now and am always welcomed back. Tourist advice is readily given (and honest!) and there is plenty of literature around.
Gastronomy
The hoiel oly preovdes a continental style breakfats, but everything is fresh and well presented and the coffee is lovely. My wife loved the fresh bread too. Personal attention is there to assist and anser questions etc. as well
Sport & Entertainment not available
The hotel does not have any of these facilities as far as I am aware
Room
Rooms here are very clean and well decorated. My room had small balcony and views of the mountains. Safe and colour TV, my room had bath with shower over and was comfortable heated and very quiet. There is a minibar in the room. Hairdryer and direct dial phone were provided. The room was modern in style and of a good size
Tips and recommendations
This hotel is reasonably priced for the area and has single rooms available which I have also stayed in. Mobile phone reception is good. There are plenty of places to eat from macdonalds a couple of minutes away to very expensive places.
The best trip is to go by mountain railway from Ost station through Lauterbrunnen and Wengen to Kleine Scheidegg, which is aofrdable. To continue to Jungraujoch is a reat experiecen but expensive. This trip is good winter or summer. The lake cruise is also worth going on. Travel by train is efficent rhoughout the are, the run to Luzern is scenic, but buy a pass of some sort individual fares are high!
