Sri Lanka good but bad *
Enlarge letters A A Downsize letters A AThe lobby has no real apparent front desk (three tables, that were not occupied when we arrived). The restaurant: the seat bolster are extremely disgusting, in the "A la minute" cooking area there is no exhaust fan, so the tables in the immediate vicinity become very hot and greasy. The first drink is easy to get, but every other drink takes very long (the waiters could have been a bit more attentive). The quality of the food was in order, we had better, but also worse. However the choice is rather small.
The rooms: we had a bungalow of which the interior had been renovated. The size was alright, the bathroom was of nice size, the shower wonderful. However, also here small flaws were visible. The lighting was defect and so were the door handles. The runners on the bed should not be touched with bare feet, the rest was clean and in order.
The pool area: a small quiet pool and a large pool with activities. The sunshades and chairs were not numerous. The pool itself was clean.
The beach: for a public beach, this section of the hotel was very clean. There weren't many guests actually swimming as the red flag was always up.
The animation: the animators were always friendly and in a good mood, however, the quality of the evening shows was rather pathetic. Information about the activities were hard to find (a small notice board for the whole area).
Conclusion: The hotel has good potential and could be better if the small details would be improved.
