Clubhotel RIU Tequila

Nice resort within the hotel and condominium playcar right next to Playa del Carmen. Despite the many hotels seemed the Straumhafte beach not crowded and invited to relax.

We booked this resort for our Individulareise to Thailand and are therefore not the package. However, we in the two weeks and have a new region became acquainted with, in future we want to explore on your own. The hotel is perfectly fine. A very nice location in the jungle animals even walk around. The beaches are great and sporting activities on land and water is sufficient. The area was located in a housing estate with the name playacar outside of Playa del Carmen. According to the hotel (there are five rius in the resort and a further nine-10 other hotels, one does not notice however) you need to walk about 20 minutes into the city by taxi or seven dollar. 5th Avenue is the so-called in Playa del Carmen the center with bars, restaurants, art artists and shopping (in addition, there are large supermarkets in the city). Crime is not an issue in the region, so that you also in the city can move freely.

The beaches are almost completely white. The more we drove in the direction of South from Cancun Tulum, be more white beaches. The water was Caribbean turquoise and just great. On the beach were to our delight, mostly Colle waves, so that the swim a little calls out for surfing has. The wind blows on the beach all the time (Caribbean); therefore but a little fresh air and scared away all the clouds...

The area didn very, very much:
Culture (Mayan temples and pyramids), great snorkeling and diving, lots of adventure and nature reserves, which one in Germany not (Xel-ha, XPLOR, etc.), remote beaches and bays (Tulum), pure nature (jungle and cenotes (caves and grottoes for snorkeling and diving), nightlife (Playa del Carmen, Cancun, very good evening shows in the resort/Club (inter alia, grease, Mama mia, Maya show (very recommendable). If you like volleyball should also the beach volleyball court at the riu palace visit, as this is a little wind.

The food was good. Next to the main restaurant (always sit outside, is a cozy and quiet) there were three other specialty restaurants.
Steak and Grillaus (highly recommended), Mexico-restaurant, and Asia-restaurant. The last two are not so convincing. The Asia restaurant was extremely Asia (rather Chinese) and not have a rather cool atmosphere, the Mexico-restaurant is located on the beach, is due to the road there however only at full moon to be recommended, as you also can enjoy views of the Caribbean Sea.

A sketch of the exact location of the hotel I will shortly deposit, since the hotel wasn't directly on the beach, but no means after shares. You can take a golf Caddy or walk five minutes to the beach from the hotel is pretty good ., if one all day long were on the putrid skin has been. Furthermore, you can use the other hotels.

What else in the fast... the rooms in the area were 21XX was very nice the standard rooms are completely enough. We did both.; suite and standard rooms. Are both great.

Excursions: many great excursions were possible. If you are fit I can only the TUI excursions to Sian Ka'an (are not there with TUI and had nevertheless the trip chosen; simply the guide talk) recommended. A full day trip with the jeep Safari in a beautiful nature reserve, including jeep itself, boat trip (to Wasserschildkörten, dolphins), reef snorkeling, swimming in the Caribbean Sea (fantastic) and subsequent food. All other tours with rental car ourselves. If you want a guided tour, take the from TUI. Are the best, since individual and more background information (see tour to chitchen Itza).

So, now have fun in Mexico and sunscreen with you, is very expensive.

PS I: your money directly from euro dollar in Mexico. Although you can pay directly in US Dollar, has a significantly worse but exchange rate.

PS II: excursions to cozumel, Isla mujeres and Isla contoy is well worth it. Many animals (including crocodiles) and beautiful landscapes. The hotel will be a trip to Isla Contaoy offered (snorkeling), where you could also makes a trip to Isla mujeres.
